Weapon Restrictions

From 29th Infantry Division

Use of other weapons outside of your primary game

If you are in a 29th server, regardless of game, weapon restrictions apply; however, if you have been enrolled into a particular AIT or have earned a badge, you may use the equivalent weapons when playing in a game that is not your primary assignment. For example, this means if you are a Combat Engineer in DH, you may use the Flamethrower or Hip Mortar if you play RS.[1]

Restrictions for all AITs by Game

Arma 3

  • Thermal Vision Optics (including Laser Designators) and Silencers are NOT permitted for use during PvP scrims and may be restricted during drills.
  • 3rnd grenade rounds (all) are prohibited.
  • 45rd, 75rd, 100rd and 150rd magazines for Riflemen approved rifles only to be used by Automatic Rifleman AIT holders.

A few notes and general rules

  • Anyone who has donated total of $20, may use SMGs in pub play, scrims, and even during drills if needed. Usage of this weapon is valid only after the donation has been processed and posted in Promotions and Awards sections of the forums. Refer to Donate page for more details.
  • For instance someone in the Rifle AIT may not pick the Squad Leader role and use the carbine. You are not allowed to pick roles that are assigned to other AITs, even if said role contains a primary weapon you are allowed to use.
  • Members of rank PFC or higher may type "PTU" (Permission to Use) to request use of a weapon not normally available to them. In pub play, this request can be granted/denied by a member of Platoon leadership or higher. In drills, this may be granted/denied by the drill leader. The procedure for asking is to use "PTU" (in all chat) and the name of the class: "2Lt. Doe, PTU Officer Class?"
  • If you recruit a member into the 29th, you get a weapons pass. During the time your pass is valid, you can use anything in the game without restriction.
  • Pistols are useable by anyone at any time.
  • You CAN pick up a restricted weapon to save it for another teammate, so long as you don't use it. You can pick up a dropped Bazooka and give it to a CE, for instance, but CAN NOT reload, fire, or do anything with it except keep it on your back.
  • During a drill, the drill leader can authorize anyone to use any weapon if the situation warrants it. A squad leader can grant you the use of a tank in his own's squads drills if he is the highest ranking member. This privilege disappears after drills end.
