Fours Years and Six Months of Service (David H. Clyde)
« on: December 22, 2014, 09:17:42 PM »
Dedication.  This was the first word that came to mind as I pondered what to write for this AOCC award.  Having known Sgt. Clyde this past year I have witnessed dedication to his men of First Squad of Second Platoon, Charlie Company, and the 29th to create a cohesive group with the skills required to meet any obstacle on the battlefield.  This dedication asks for no less than 120% of his men and they deliver.  The Sergeant's dedication to his Squad, support of Second Platoon, and Charlie Company does not go unnoticed and I am proud to have him under my command.  Congratulations Sgt. Clyde on achieving your 9th AOCC and for your leadership of First Squad.
David H. Clyde has been awarded the following awards:

Sgt. Clyde, I was happy when I heard you were taking over CP2S1 and now after seeing where you have lead the squad *cough* Platoon it brings a tear to an old Sergeant's eye. By "brings a tear" I mean some Privates are gonna have to dig some holes.

Congratulations Sergeant, I'll see you in six.

Let's see if I can think back that far in my time here. Oh that's right. Sgt. Clyde, when you first enlisted everyone was convinced you were black due to your accent. We all know that isn't true now, even if we still have some doubts. I served in your squad and platoon for my the vast majority of my time in the 29th. We always got along and it has been a pleasure. I can say, without a doubt, that because of you is the reason that I learned what it meant to take care of your guys. You always put your platoon or squad first. Thanks for all of your time and dedication.
Longest conversation that I have ever had without asking "how long have we been talking". With PFC Broski on 11/6/2011 and lasted 5 hours and 28 mins.

Your Southern drawl is eponymous in our ops now. 4.5 years is a good start but IT IS BUT A START!
